Free Baby Crochet Patterns

Crocheting for your babies can be very rewarding. Every item you make will be made with love, and who knows, maybe they know. And not only will you be able to show off your little one, but you will also be able to show off your crochet creations.

Here are some free baby crochet patterns to help you get started crocheting for your little one, or for someone else's. Hope you enjoy!

This pattern uses the "Jacob's ladder" crochet stitch as well as shells, and the double crochet stitch. It is worked from the center outwards to create a hexagon (6 sided) blanket. The finished size is about 36" from side to side. The yarn used is Bernat Baby Sport, but any yarn can be substituted for this pattern. This is a very simple baby blanket to crochet and is made by using chains and the double crochet stitch. It is perfect for the beginning crocheter. The finished size of this pattern is 38" by 41". Mini Igloo Baby Blanket.

This is a really cute crochet pattern for a Baby Cocoon. It is worked with two strands of Caron One Pound yarn. The yarn is thick and soft. The finished size is perfect for a newborn. Baby Cocoon.

This is a really neat pattern for a baby sweater. The yarn used is Red Heart Baby Soft, but you can also use other yarns. Instructions are given for a newborn and up to 6 months old. Baby sweater.

Here is one for a baby beanie. The crochet pattern itself is very easy to make and follow, but the yarn used is Bernat Baby Coordinates which is not recommended for the beginning crocheter. The pattern uses a reversed single crochet for the edging, which is really neat. Baby Beanie.

Here is another free crochet pattern using Bernat Baby Coordinates. This is a pattern for a baby pig-tail hat, and is easy to follow. It is really neat, and I'm sure every little princess would love to have one. It fits a head circumference of 13" to 14". Baby Pig-Tail Hat.

These baby booties are sooo cozy, and are sure to keep the baby's feet nice and toasty! They are made using Red Heart Baby Clouds yarn and are ever so cute! These booties are absolutely adorable! They are high top with style! The skill level is intermediate, but there is a link to a video which demonstrates step-by-step on how to make them.
