Free Crochet Patterns for Hooded Scarves
Hooded scarves are basically a combination of a scarf and a hood. Not only are they a convenient way to keep warm in the cold weather, but they are also quick and easy to make.
There are several ways of making a hooded scarf. One way is to crochet the scarf as normal, and then crochet another rectangular piece for the hood. The hood piece is then folded in half and closed up along one edge in order to form the hood. The bottom edge of the hood is then attached to one side of the scarf.
When using the above method, the seam will fall at the back of the head. But if you don’t mind the seam at the top, then you can work the first row of stitches for the hood directly into the edge of the scarf. This is a convenient method because you don’t have to sew the hood to the scarf afterwards.
And the easiest way to make a hooded scarf is to make a wide scarf. Then fold the scarf in half, and starting at the fold, sew a small seam on one side until the hood is tall enough. You can do this with any scarf pattern that allows you to adjust the width.
Depending on the stitch pattern, hooded scarves can be very easy to crochet and thus suitable for beginners and crocheters at all levels.

While I wouldn't need one of these here in HI, they would make great gifts. Nice selection! Rated up and useful!

the red hooded scarf in the 1st picture is amazing. It reminds me a fairy tale about Little Red Riding Hood. :) Great collection. Thank you.
